Exhibition in Japan 2018

The great news arrived 1 week ago... Exhibition confirmed in Japan!!! Yes, my art will be exposed in one of the most famous area of Tokyo, in Shibuya at NHK Fureai gallery. How did it happen? Last summer I had a booth confirmed at the Design Festa event, my schedule was really tight, but found time to meet my friend JINMO, whom I know since 2013. He is also an artist, so I went to his studio to have an Art chat with him and his wife, who prepares delicious matcha tea. I had the chance to see his amazing calligraphy (shuji) material and watching him in action creating calligraphic art. After talking a lot, the idea came, Jinmo invited me to join him for a duo exhibition. No need to say how I am thankful!!! Then we tried to find a period easy for me, like April to be on a holiday season. But Jinmo has a USA tour (as guitarist) at that time. And before would have been too early to create new paintings. Then, it was fixed around May, just had to wait for the gallery dec...

Warning, money/art stealers

What a disenchantment today... but bit expected. Fortunately my 6th sense was warning me and was careful since the begining. Let me explain how someone tried to steal my artworks and money (that I don't have anyway lol). This is a warning for every artists who need to sell some art, hoping to make new sales to get some food in the fridge... Always be careful! ****************** 3 days ago, I got 3 messages through Artblr, 1 for each artwork posted on this website. Nothing wrong there, since you can contact the artist from this platform. You can request info per artwork. Well, for me it was already weird, I even have forgotten that I had an account there. It was not moving, just a few views and likes. Suspicious, I checked if I can find the profile of this guy on social network with his e-mail. Nothing found. But ok, you can use a different e-mail and name on the SN... I sent the price and info to this person, thinking that if I can get at least 1 purchase it would be ...

Furikake - ふりかけ

Let's talk about food today! More precisely about "furikake" - ふりかけ. Now you are wondering what is this stuff, right? Furikake is a kind of condiment that you usually add on rice. The variety is wide. I tried already many sorts but surely not all of them. A pack in Japan usually cost 100yen+tax. Of course the price will vary according to the type of the store, packaging size and content. Honestly, when your fridge is empty, these furikake can be life saviour ! Compared to Japanese, we are not used to eat so much rice, so, plain white rice without sauce ? This condiments helped me to appreciate the rice without any heavy/fat topping. I use them also on pasta, sandwiches, vegetables etc You just have to sprinkle the quantity you wish on your food and mix. Mini packs So, for the tastes... It goes from regular ones such as fish, meat, tarako, vegetables to more special ones: wasabi, yakitori, butter (バター), chips etc. I really like these one...
