Exhibition in Japan 2018

The great news arrived 1 week ago... Exhibition confirmed in Japan!!! Yes, my art will be exposed in one of the most famous area of Tokyo, in Shibuya at NHK Fureai gallery. How did it happen? Last summer I had a booth confirmed at the Design Festa event, my schedule was really tight, but found time to meet my friend JINMO, whom I know since 2013. He is also an artist, so I went to his studio to have an Art chat with him and his wife, who prepares delicious matcha tea. I had the chance to see his amazing calligraphy (shuji) material and watching him in action creating calligraphic art. After talking a lot, the idea came, Jinmo invited me to join him for a duo exhibition. No need to say how I am thankful!!! Then we tried to find a period easy for me, like April to be on a holiday season. But Jinmo has a USA tour (as guitarist) at that time. And before would have been too early to create new paintings. Public transports in Japan: train & metro

While travelling in Japan, you will need to use the public transports. Even if you like walking, at some point, it's impossible to visit many places without taking the train or metro. There are other transports, but these 2 are the main ones. Let's keep the bus, ferry, street car, monorail, cable car and ropeway for the next blogs. This is what happened to me during my first trip. On the first days, my Japanese friends where all the time with me, so I just had to follow them, passing from one visit to another, no idea where I was in Tokyo, taking metro here and there, or was it the train? Ha, yes... maybe it was a train, or wait, no hm... they all looked the same! I don't know... Train station Yokoh

Nail stickers

During my last trip in Japan, I found, in the Daiso shop, really pretty nail stickers. Knowing my nails, I was thinking that it's probably waste of time and I will give them away. Well, 100 yen, it's worth to give a try. First I was thinking to use them on fake nails... But when I glue anything on my nails, it never lasts. Less than 24 hours and I start loosing them, even after 1 hour lol. Well, surprise! One week after and I still have them. Ok, let's be honest, the extremity of the nail is more fragile and you use it for many things, sometimes it's bit scratched/broken like the thumb nail. But it's really discreet with such pattern. When you apply the stickers, make sure to have clean hands, don't use any cream before etc. I used a pad with alcohol to remove any potential oilish parts of the nails. When you have small fingers, the most difficult part is that you have to cut the stickers. You can cut them in advance if you are sure
